New Lower Esopus Fishing and Boating Access Unveiled for Earth Week 2016

What: DEC Regional Director Martin Brand and elected officials will be officially opening the Lower Esopus Fishing/Canoe Access at 11 a.m. The event will include a tour of the first state-owned fishing and boating access point on the Lower Esopus Creek, which features an accessible boat launch, fishing platform and picnic area.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: A free fishing event will be held at the site following the unveiling, and adults and children can fish without a license from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Sandy Road, Town of Ulster, NY 12401 - for GPS, use: 30 Sandy Road, Kingston, NY 12401

When: Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11 a.m.

Directions: Take Thruway Exit 19 (Kingston) – go through the traffic circle and take the Washington Avenue exit, approximately ½ mile down Washington Avenue turn left onto Sandy Road (the Olympic Diner is located at this intersection). The access site is just down the road, parking will be on the left.
