Electricians Recruit Apprentices |

Clay, NY (May 8, 2016) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Electricians, Local Union #43 (Syracuse), will conduct a recruitment from June 8, 2016 through May 10, 2017 for 20 electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 20 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for the Central, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, and Southern Tier regions. This program’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Tompkins, and Wayne. Applications can be obtained at the John J. Barry Training Center, 4566 Waterhouse Road, Clay, NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the second Wednesday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. A computer will be made available for applicants during these times as well. Applications will also be available at any time online at www.cnyjatc.org. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
