Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Long Island City, NY (September 12, 2018) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Bricklayers & Allied Craft Workers JAC Local Union #1, will conduct a recruitment from September 28, 2018 through June 28, 2019 for ten bricklayer-mason apprentices; five stone mason apprentices; ten pointer, caulker, & cleaner apprentices; and five plasterer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Applications will be available at the International Masonry Institute, 12-07 44th Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on the following dates: 9/28/18, 10/26/18, 11/30/18, 12/21/18, 1/25/19, 2/22/19, 3/29/19, 4/26/19, 5/31/19, and 6/28/19. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. There will be no admittance after 8:30 a.m. An aptitude test will be conducted at the time of application. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
