Quinnipiac Continues to Climb in USCHO.Com College Hockey Poll

ALBANY, N.Y. --- The Quinnipiac men’s hockey team skated to two more wins Friday and Saturday, downing ECAC Hockey rivals Harvard (3-4-1, 2-4-1), 3-2 Friday, and Dartmouth (0-8-0, 0-6-0), 3-1 Saturday. The two victories pushed the Bobcats to 5-0-1 in conference play and 11-1-1 overall and a fourth place standing in this week’s USCHO.Com poll.  Quinnipiac started the year off 10th in the pre-season poll and even fell as far to 14th in October before beginning their climb into the nation’s top-five.

Quinnipiac is one of six ECAC Hockey teams in this week’s top-25.  Union, who trails the national championship runners-up by one point atop the conference standings, is back in the top-25 for the first time since Oct. 14.  The 17th ranked Skating Dutchmen (5-3-2, 5-1-0) completed a weekend sweep of 14th ranked RPI (6-4-2, 2-3-2), 4-3, Friday and 4-1, Saturday. The two losses dropped the Engineers from 10th to 14th this week.

Defending national champions Yale (4-1-2, 2-0-2) remained ninth this week after downing Sacred Heart 5-1 Saturday, while Clarkson (10-3-1, 4-2-0) held onto the 11th place spot with a win over 3-2 win over 18th ranked Cornell (4-3-1, 2-3-1), Friday, and a 4-3 loss to Colgate (6-6-1, 4-2-0), Saturday.
