Media Advisory: Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week

Join the New York State Office of Mental Health, New York State Council on Children and Families, Early Care & Learning Council, the Infant Mental Health Association/Capital District Child Care Council, Families Together in New York State, The Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy, and NAMI-NYS as we honor youth and families who are speaking out about the importance of children’s mental health awareness and award honorees for successfully addressing the issues of children’s mental health in New York State.


When:              May 5, 2015 at NOON

Where:            Huxley Auditorium, New York State Museum, Albany, New York

What:               An Art Exhibit will feature artwork from children struggling with behavioral health challenges throughout New York State and a ceremony honoring individuals and programs that are successfully addressing the issues of children’s mental health in New York State.

                         

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day seeks to raise awareness about the importance of children’s mental health and to show that positive mental health is essential to a child’s healthy development from birth.
