State and Local Officials To Host a Groundbreaking Event for Veterans Housing Project in Utica

UTICA – NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Commissioner Samuel D. Roberts will join with fellow state and local officials to break ground on the Central New York Veterans Outreach Housing Project.  When completed, the $3.2 million project will provide 17 units of permanent and supportive housing specifically for homeless veterans.


Members of the press are invited to attend.  Artist renderings and tours of the construction area are available for filming.


WHO:  Expected speakers include:  Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri; Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente; Commissioner of the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Samuel D. Roberts; NYS Senator Joseph Griffo; NYS Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi; CNY Veterans Outreach Executive Director Vincent Scalise; among others.
                            

WHAT: Press conference and ground breaking ceremony for the CNY Veterans Outreach Housing Project.  Once completed, the primarily state-funded project will provide 17 units of permanent and supportive housing specifically for homeless veterans or those veterans who are at risk of homelessness in Central New York.  The housing units will be built on the 3rd and 4th floor of the existing CNY Veterans Outreach Center in downtown Utica.
