Come out and Play… Media Day at Whiteface Adventure Zone

(June 20, 2014) --- Stop being an adult for the entire day. Play hooky from the office, break away from the computer and cell phone and be a kid. You’ve been invited to come and play in the new Adventure Zone at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y. , Tuesday, July 8. The Adventure Zone is the Olympic mountain’s newest summer attraction, designed to challenge and entertain the kid in all of us and features the Spider Mountain Climbing Wall & Slide, bungee assisted freestyle trampolines, a slackline park and much more.

Once you’re done playing at the base, climb to the summit of New York State’s fifth highest peak, via the Whiteface Mountain Veterans’ Memorial Highway. There, you’ll have lunch in the Castle Café, while enjoying unparalleled views of the Adirondack high peaks spanning hundreds of square miles of wild land reaching out to Vermont and Canada.

WHAT: A media play day at Whiteface Mountain’s new Adventure Zone. Other activities include the 4x4 Alpine Expedition, Cloudsplitter Gondola to the summit of Little Whiteface, a Nature Trek to Stagg Brook and even toss a Frisbee, or two, on the mountain’s disk golf course. This will be followed by lunch at the Castle Café, atop Whiteface Mountain.

WHERE: Whiteface Mountain, 5021 Route 86, Wilmington, NY 12997, http://www.whiteface.com/directions

WHEN: Tuesday, July 8, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

WHY: This is your chance to play on Whiteface Mountain when the east’s greatest vertical isn’t covered with snow. The mountain is just as much fun in the summer as it is in the winter.

WHO: This opportunity is available to all media.

Please RSVP to Jon Lundin, ORDA public relations, Tel: 518-302-5313, email: jlundin@orda.org, by Friday, July 4.
