Capitol Park After Dark Schedule

Wednesday, July 14, 8:30 p.m.
“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” l 1986 l PG-13

“Bueller…Bueller…?” Sorry, not here! Instead, high-schooler Ferris Bueller (Mathew Broderick), his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara), and his best bud Cameron (Alan Ruck) are off on the spontaneous romp through Chicago known as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. So, forge a “sick note” from the parents and tag along on the funniest adventure to ever sweep through the Windy City. What are you still doing here? Save Ferris!

Wednesday, July 21, 8:30 p.m.
“Strangers on a Train” l 1951 l PG
Alfred Hitchcock directed this classic suspense tale, tapping into the evil that lies hidden just beneath the surface of each of us. When two strangers — tennis star Guy Haines (Farley Granger), whose wife will not grant him a divorce, and wealthy but deranged young Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker), who wants to be rid of his father — happen to meet on a train from Washington to New York, the conversation casually turns to a possibly perfect crime: what if each committed murder for the other?

Wednesday, July 28, 8:30 p.m.
“On the Town” l 1949 l Unrated
In this winner of the 1950 Acadamy Award for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture, fun-loving sailors Gabey (Gene Kelly), Chip (Frank Sinatra), and Ozzie (Jules Munshin) have 24 hours of shore leave in New York City, and they want to make every second count. While Chip hooks up with loudmouth cab driver Brunhilde (Betty Garrett) and Ozzie swoons for prim anthropologist Claire (Ann Miller), Gabey falls in love with an actress he sees in an advertisement, Ivy Smith (Vera-Ellen). Leonard Bernstein, with lyricists Betty Comden and Adolph Green, provides the music.

West Capitol Park is located in Albany between Washington Avenue and State Street and between South Swan Street and the New York State Capitol.

No alcoholic beverages, coolers (defined as rigid insulated containers), or glass containers of any kind will be allowed.
