The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance today encouraged all New York State fairgoers to stop by Booth #200 in the airconditioned Center of Progress building to spin our myth-busting wheel.

Those who correctly respond to a statement as “myth” or “fact” win a folder to help organize their tax documents and ease the filing process.

There’s more: While supplies last, fridge magnets depicting a Ferris wheel and inscribed with our website address—the gateway to all our online guidance and services.

Tax employees will also be on hand to provide an array of helpful documents geared to homeowners, military personnel and veterans, small businesses, and other key audiences from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. August 21 through Labor Day, September 2. To ensure the confidentiality of tax matters, they won’t be available to discuss or help resolve individual tax issues.

“We’re excited to be at the Great New York State Fair,” said New York State Commissioner of Taxation and Finance Michael Schmidt. “We know we can’t compete with all the thrills, entertainment, and delicacies at this great venue, but we can offer guidance so that filing is as easy as possible.”
