Thousands of volunteers expected throughout New York State Who: New York State Parks Parks & Trails New York Department of Environmental Conservation National Park Service What: Statewide ‘I Love My Park Day’ celebration When: Saturday, May 7, 2016 [Most events begin at 9:00am and end by 12:00pm] Where: Participating parks, start times, and contact information can be found here http://www.ptny.org/events/i-love-my-park-day/find-event. This year, more than 6,000 volunteers of all ages are expected to help improve 110 parks and historic sites through more than 200 projects ranging from general park clean-up, such as debris and trash pick-up, and invasive plant and species removal to beautification efforts such as planting flowers and trees, weed removal, reseeding, painting, installation of benches and picnic tables, trail maintenance and much more. |
