New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence in Partnership with Don McPherson and Syracuse University Barnes Center at the Arch Holds Modernizing Masculinity: How Men and Boys Can Break the Mold and Achieve Aspirational Masculinity Panel

Syracuse, NY- In celebration of their new partnership with former NFL and Syracuse University quarterback, Don McPherson, and in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV) will hold a panel to discuss Modernizing Masculinity: How Men and Boys Can Break the Mold and Achieve Aspirational Masculinity in partnership with Syracuse University. The panel will be moderated by Mr. McPherson and will consist of Syracuse University and New York State officials and student leaders. The event will feature discussions on modern day masculinity and how society can dispel toxic masculinity and achieve aspirational masculinity. This event is part of OPDV’s larger public awareness campaign, Start the Conversation: Engaging Men and Boys. OPDV’s Start the Conversation: Engaging Men and Boys campaign and the Pledge of Accountability to End Gender-Based Violence were launched in April 2023 in partnership with Lieutenant Governor Delgado.
