Brown moved up in the final segment with a performance set to "Inner Love" by Maxime Rodriguez. Despite a fall on his opening quadruple toe and a popped triple loop, Brown amassed a segment score of 170.30 for three Level 4 spins, a Level 4 step sequence and seven triple jumps. He finished the week with a total score of 261.14.

Rebounding from a seventh-place finish in the short program, Wagner earned a free skate score of 122.37, en route to 183.94 overall points and a spot on the podium. Her "Moulin Rouge!" free skate included seven jumping passes, four of which earned bonus points for taking place in the second half of the performance.

Courtney Hicks earned 182.57 points to finish in fourth place, while Karen Chen finished seventh with 170.40.

Hubbell and Donohue turned in the second-best free dance of the event, earning a season-best 113.35 for their efforts in the final segment. Their performance, set to "Across the Sky (Instrumental)" by Rag'n'Bone Man and "Caught Out in the Rain" by Beth Hart, featured nine elements, each of which received +2 or +3 Grades of Execution across the board. They finished the week with 189.43 points, ahead of teammates Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker, who finished fourth with 165.20.

Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier finished seventh in the pairs event, earning 109.69 for their “Who Wants to Live Forever” free skate and 172.95 overall.

The Grand Prix Series will continue this week with Cup of China, Nov. 3-5, in Beijing, China.

The Grand Prix series concludes when Lake Placid, N.Y. host the 2017 Bridgestone Grand Prix, Nov. 24-26. The men and pairs short programs are set for Friday, Nov. 24. The ladies short program and short dance, as well as the pairs and men’s free skates will take place Saturday, Nov. 25. On Sunday, Nov. 26, the competition concludes with the free dance and ladies free skate.

Past Skate America titlists include five-time World champion and two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan and Olympic champions Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton, Evan Lysacek and Meryl Davis and Charlie White. The event will mark the fifth time the event has been held in Lake Placid.
