The 34th Annual Oyster Festival at Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay Village is expected to attract more than 200,000 people on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 14-15, for the East Coast’s largest waterfront fete. Revelers can avoid traffic and parking lines by taking one of the many trains the LIRR will be running to Oyster Bay Station that weekend – dropping festivalgoers off in the middle of the fairgrounds – including three extra eastbound and westbound trains to get there and back for the family-friendly event running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. The festival -- going 34 years strong – boasts an abundance of oysters and seafood selections served up by a variety of locals, including firefighters, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, high school athletes, Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions clubs members. Watch the legendary oyster shucking and eating contests, get your fill of oyster po’ boy sandwiches, lobster dinners, scallops, crab cakes, fish tacos, brats, gyros, empanadas, steak sandwiches and an international array of desserts, shop the 150 arts and crafts tables, soak in the live entertainment, pirate shows, and more. Profits from food sales will help to support local charities within the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District.

For customers who are located at stations, the LIRR will post the latest service updates on digital signs at station platforms and will make audio announcements over public address systems, and on-board announcements made by train crews.
