THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF STATE TO HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON CEASE AND DESIST ZONE IN BROOKLYN

The New York State Department of State’s Division of Licensing will hold a meeting on                 Thursday, June 9 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. to discuss Brooklyn Cease and Desist Zone

WHAT: This hearing will examine whether homeowners in Kings County are being subjected to intense and repeated solicitations by real estate brokers, salespeople or individuals regularly engaged in the buying and selling of real estate. After the public hearing and investigation, the Department of State will determine whether a defined area should become a cease and desist zone.

  • Proof of vaccination and a valid photo i.d. are required for all attendees to enter the building.

  • Walk-ins will be permitted on a first-come, first-served basis to the extent that seating capacity and time allow.
  • Individuals who attend but who do not wish to speak or remain for the entire hearing will be able to drop off written remarks and evidence at the hearing with the Department of State.
