New multi-millionaire to be unveiled in near future
The mysterious missing millionaire who purchased a $24.1 million Lotto ticket in Manhattan has been found! The lucky individual, who will be formally announced in the near future, came to the Lottery’s Beaver Street Customer Service Center in Lower Manhattan on May 23 to claim the prize – two days before the winning ticket from the May 25, 2016 Lotto drawing was set to expire.
The individual said that news coverage of the about-to-expire ticket prompted the soon-to-be millionaire to search for the ticket in their home, where it was located among other old tickets.
Winning numbers were 05-12-13-22-25-35 Bonus #:51.
“We are thrilled that this lucky winner was able to locate this life-changing ticket,” said Gweneth Dean, Director of the Commission’s Division of the Lottery. “We look forward to introducing this multimillionaire who came forward in the nick of time.”
The lucky individual purchased the single winning ticket for the May 25, 2016 Lotto drawing at Renu Corp Grocery & Tobacco located at 158 Church Street in Tribeca.
The winner’s identity will be announced in the near future, pending completion of the Lottery’s security background review.
As a reminder: Lottery prizes can be claimed up to a year after a drawing. Winning ticketholders should sign the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place until they come to the Lottery to claim their prize. Winners may claim the ticket at any one of the Lottery’s Customer Service Centers across the state.
