Ironworkers Recruit Apprentices |

Orchard Park, NY (December 29, 2021) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Ironworkers, Local Union #6, will conduct a recruitment from January 3, 2022 through December 26, 2022 for 30 Ironworker (outside) apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the thirty openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for three recruitment regions – the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and Western regions. Applications must be completed in person at Local Union #6, 196 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca, NY, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
