Tour of Wilmington Whiteface Bike Races Return to Wilmington Region

Sign up Now for Whiteface Uphill & WW100 Bike Races

WILMINGTON, N.Y. --- Registration is now open for the 2018 Tour of Wilmington Whiteface’s 17th annual Whiteface Mountain Uphill Bike Race and 8th annual Wilmington Whiteface 100K mountain bike race (WW100). Both events highlight a road and mountain biking weekend that features a mix of uphill, downhill, serious competition and family fun.

The two-day, June 1-2, mountain and road bike events, as well as Sunday’s, June 3, “AdiRUNdack 10k” are expected to bring hundreds of cycling and outdoor enthusiasts to the Wilmington region to participate in both the 11-mile road race to the summit of Whiteface Mountain, the 69-mile long mountain bike race and the newly added 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) trail run.

The 17th annual Whiteface Mountain Uphill Bike Race kicks off the race weekend, with its new 5:30 p.m. start time, as road cyclists try to tackle New York State’s fifth highest peak. The race begins at the base of Whiteface Mountain and then proceeds to the Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway to begin 3,500-foot climb that ends with the finish line 4,865 feet above sea-level.

Saturday’s, June 2, WW100 begins and ends at the famed Olympic mountain. This mountain bike race pushes the more than 500 riders up, down, through and around twisting dirt, paved and gravel roads, back country trails and single track as well as climbs that measure more than 750 meters each.  That’s all before they return to Whiteface where a final 360-foot climb awaits them ahead of the finish line.

The WW100 is one of only seven Leadville qualifiers and the top finishers from this event automatically earn spots into the prestigious Leadville 100 MTB slated for Aug. 11, 2018.
