Please note that the 20 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Long Island and New York City regions of the state.

This is a limited-application recruitment. Only 200 applications will be distributed, on a first-come, first-serve basis. The recruitment will be offered for 10 business days or until 200 applications have been issued, whichever comes first.

To obtain an application, applicants must email their request, along with their first and last name and date of birth to Local12AJEF@gmail.com, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the recruitment period. Requests received outside of this time period, on the weekend, or prior to or after the recruitment dates will not get an application. Only one request should be sent. Applications will be distributed by email and will include instructions for next steps to return applications. Applicants will need to print and complete them out before returning the applications. Each applicant must arrive at their specified time and date to return the application and take an assessment online. Anyone arriving late will be dropped from further consideration.

Applicants who do not have access to a printer may want to check with their local library or New York State Department of Labor Career Center.

A $25.00 testing fee will be charged to each applicant. A money order for $25, made out to Local 12 AJEF must be returned with the application. Please note: This fee may be waived upon request. Fee waivers will be approved upon showing verifiable proof of financial need.

Testing fees and required documents must be included with the application. If not included, the application will be considered void.
