Lodi Point State Park to Reopen Saturday

Park Was Staging Area to Assist Flood Impacted Areas

The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) today announced that Lodi Point State Park on Seneca Lake will reopen Saturday, October 27.

Lodi Point closed following a severe storm in August, and has since been used as a staging area for emergency response and debris removal operations for the surrounding community.

In addition, all services at the Sampson State Park marina will end for the season on Saturday due to a planned capital improvement project. Marina operations are expected to resume next spring. Lodi Point and Seneca Lake state parks are convenient alternate options for boat launching. A full list of state boat launching facilities are available on the website.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation oversees more than 250 individual state parks, historic sites, golf courses, boat launches and recreational trails, which are visited by 71 million people annually. For more information on any of these recreation areas, call 518-474-0456 or visit parks.ny.gov, connect on Facebook, or follow on Twitter.
