The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that the 36 St  Forest Hills/Jamaica bound platform will be closed between Monday, June 5 at 4:45 a.m. and Monday, June 12 at 5:00 a.m. while crews perform station improvements. 

Crews will be repainting station surfaces, performing lead-based paint abatement, renovating ADA-compliant platforms, repairing structural steel and tiles, performing surface cleaning and painting, drainage work and replacing doors, frames and gates. Customer upgrades including new communication and public safety systems will also be installed. 

Forest Hills-bound  trains and late night local Jamaica-bound  trains will skip 36 St. Customers should consider using the Queens Plaza, Steinway St, or the 39 Av-Dutch Kills  stations. 

For service to the 36 St station, customers should take the  (days) or local  (nights) to Steinway St and transfer to a Manhattan-bound train. For service from this station, customers can take the  (days) to Queens Plaza and transfer to a Forest Hills or Jamaica-bound train. Overnight, customers can take the  train to Queens Plaza or  train to 21 St-Queensbridge for Jamaica-bound service. 

Please note that from Friday, June 9 at 9:45 p.m. to Monday, June 12 at 5:00 a.m., there will be no Jamaica-bound service at Queens Plaza. Customers should transfer at 21 St-Queensbridge station.
