Suffolk County Woman Claims $1,000 A Week For Life CASH4LIFE Prize Just Ahead of Deadline

Genine Plummer of Islip claimed her $1,000 A Week For Life second prize for matching the first five numbers drawn in the May 26, 2022 CASH4LIFE game. A CASH4LIFE second prize guarantees a minimum payout of $1,000,000 payable as a for-life annuity or a one-time lump sum at the election of the winner.

Plummer filed her claim just days before her winning ticket was set to expire. The New York Lottery issued a news release on May 11, 2023 alerting players that the ticket was set to expire on May 26.  That prompted Plummer to check her tickets again, at which point she discovered that a ticket she had purchased was the winner.

“I’m just in shock with everything and amazed,” said the retired Postal Service employee. “I am overwhelmed.”

When asked for any advice for Lottery players, Plummer said, “Keep playing as I did and check your tickets like I did, especially if you have many tickets on hand.”

Plummer opted to receive her prize in annual installments of $33,852 after required withholdings. The winning CASH4LIFE numbers drawn were: 03 -09-33-57-58 Cash Ball 01.

The winning ticket was purchased ShopRite of Bayshore located at 1905 Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore.

The CASH4LIFE GAME generated $120,868,815 in total sales during fiscal year 2021-2022. School districts in Suffolk County received $270,015,864 in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same period.
