Electricians Recruit Apprentices |

Harriman, NY (July 1, 2016) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Electricians, Local Union #363, will conduct a recruitment from August 1, 2016 through May 5, 2017 for 15 electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Applications can be obtained and submitted, in person only, at Local Union #363, 67 Commerce Drive South, Harriman, NY, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from August 1st through August 5, 2016, and during the first full business week in November of 2016 (November 7 - 11), February of 2017 (February 6 – 10), and May of 2017 (May 1 - 5). The Committee requires that applicants:
*In Delaware County - The townships of Andes, Harpersfield, Kortright, Stamford, Bovina, Roxbury, and Middletown; also the portions of Colchester and Hancock townships south of the East Branch of the Delaware River. **In Greene County - That portion of the county which lies south of a line beginning at the Hudson River and following the south limits of the City of Catskill to Highway 23A, along 23A to Route 2 (the road following the Little West Kill), and continuing west along this road to Delaware County.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
