Rockaway-bound Marine Parkway Bridge Overnight Closures Extended From Dec. 19-22

One lane closed each direction other times; Q35 Bus is Exception

The Rockaway-bound (south) side of the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will continue to be closed to traffic during overnight hours each night from Monday, Dec. 19 through Thursday morning, Dec. 22, in order to conduct a crane operation on the North Tower. Inclement weather has forced the extension of this project. The closures will not be in effect on Saturday and Sunday nights.

All south-bound traffic will continue to be detoured to the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.  Note: The exception is Q35 bus, which will maintain normal route under facility escort.

In addition, during the daytime hours one lane will be closed in both directions to accommodate the crane work zone.

Signs will be in place advising motorists of the north-bound closure and detour coming off the bridge.

Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mta.info and check the Bridges and Tunnels homepage or Facebook page for the latest information on this planned work.
