WHAT: DEC and DOH emergency response personnel have been working along with local fire department and emergency responders to coordinate air quality monitoring advise air quality data for any public health impacts to public and the environment. Today, DEC and DOH will be conducting a webinar to present the findings of the ongoing monitoring.

The monitoring was conducted to assess short term increases in chemicals associated with the fire. Findings of short term increases in chemicals was expected and were consistent with instructions that were issued by local first responders at the time to shelter in place, and later to evacuate, and limit exposure to the smoke.
