Massena, NY (February 13, 2020) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Laborers, Local #1822, will conduct a recruitment from April 1, 2020 through March 3, 2021 for three Skilled Construction Craft Laborer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Applications must be obtained and completed in person at the JATC for Laborers, Local #1822 at one of these locations: 49 ½ Maple St., Massena, NY and Paddock Arcade, Suite 15, 2nd Floor, Washington Street, Watertown, NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month excluding legal holidays; and at the Plattsburg Annex office, 23 Elm Street, Suite 400, Plattsburgh, NY from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications must be received no later than March 3, 2021.

The Committee requires that applicants:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED).
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work and required classes at the approved school.
• Must pass a drug test, at the expense of the sponsor, after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship.
• Must verbally attest that they are physically able to do the work of a Skilled Construction Craft Laborer.
