On Tuesday, July 19, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will host an official opening ceremony with more than 100 close friends to celebrate the opening of the new Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park. The facility, supported with funds from Governor Cuomo’s NY Parks 2020 plan, will serve as a much needed educational, recreation and tourism destination for the more than 850,000 annual visitors to Letchworth State Park. Renowned as the “Grand Canyon of the East,” Letchworth was recently awarded the USA Today Reader’s Choice Award for Best State Park in the United States.
