DEC Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Lake George Beach Improvement Project

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) invites the media today to the groundbreaking event for the Lake George Beach Improvement Project at DEC’s Lake George Beach facility.

The project is designed to improve access for beach goers and boaters at the recreational site, while at the same time protecting water quality.

Who: DEC Commissioner Joe Martens, State and local elected officials, and others.

When: 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 8

Where: DEC Lake George Beach facility at 139 Beach Road, Lake George, NY

Directions: Take the Northway to Exit 21. Turn on Route 9N North towards Lake George. Turn left at traffic light onto Route 9 North. Travel 0.4 mile and turn right onto Fort George Road (just after Stewart’s Shop on the right). Travel to the end of Fort George Road (0.6 mile). Turn right onto Beach Road. The Beach Parking Area will be a quarter mile ahead. Enter the main parking lot and follow directions.
