Monthly and Quarterly Sales Tax Filers: Submit Your Returns Today!

Don’t delay: Sales tax vendors can file now and schedule payments up until the December 20 deadline

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance today reminded both monthly and quarterly sales tax filers that returns are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20.

“Avoid filing at the last minute by using Sales Tax Web File,” said Acting Commissioner Nonie Manion. “This convenient online service makes filing easy, fast, and flexible—allowing payments to be scheduled up until the due date. It’s free to use and allows payments to be made directly from a vendor’s checking or savings account.”

Sales Tax Web File also allows bank account information to be saved for future payments and is designed to protect your private information.

Registered sales tax vendors must file a sales tax return by its due date, even if they have no tax due for the filing period. The Tax Department’s Sales Tax Web File page is full of resources to help prepare and file an accurate sales tax return on time to avoid penalties. Resources include filing instructions, guidance, videos, and demos.

Assistance for sales tax vendors is also available in 6 languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Italian, and Haitian Creole, on the department’s Welcome new vendors page.

To Web File:

1. Log in to your Online Services account.
2. Select Sales tax - file and pay in the Services menu.
3. Select Sales tax web file from the drop-down.
