Elevator Constructors Recruit Apprentices |

Poughkeepsie, NY (July 3, 2017) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Elevator Constructors, Local Union #138, will conduct a limited recruitment from August 4, 2017 through September 4, 2017 for one Elevator/Escalator Constructor and Modernizer apprentice, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the opening listed for an apprentice represents the total number for three recruitment regions - the Capital District, Southern, and Mid-Hudson regions. Applications are only available online. Applications can be submitted at any time during the recruitment period at the following website: www.neiep.org/careers.aspx. Applicants who do not have access to a computer may visit their local library or a NYS Department of Labor Career Center. Applicants must take and pass the Elevator Industry Aptitude Test with a score of at least 70 out of 100. A $25.00 testing fee is required on the day of the test. Payment must be in the form of a postal money order or bank certified check. No cash or personal checks will be accepted. Please note, you may request that this fee be waived. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
