On August 6, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will announce a pilot program that introduces free Wi-Fi for visitors at select parks across the state. Jones Beach has been selected as one of the first parks that will provide visitors the opportunity to connect. The free service, called Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi™, is part of a pilot program made possible through a public-private partnership between State Parks, Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid and American Park Network. The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation oversees 180 state parks and 35 historic sites, which are visited by 60 million people annually. For more information on any of these recreation areas, call 518-474-0456 or visit www.nysparks.com, connect on Facebook, or follow on Twitter. |
