OGS ANNOUNCES NEW SUMMER OUTDOOR MARKET AT THE UTICA STATE OFFICE BUILDING

Live Lunchtime Music on Select Market Days

RoAnn M. Destito, New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner, today announced the start of the Genesee Street Market, a new destination for buying local and shopping fresh from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday through August 31 on the plaza in front of the Utica State Office Building located at 207 Genesee Street.

“Governor Cuomo has made it a priority for state agencies to make the best use of public facilities and has encouraged us to strengthen relationships between the State and local communities; this market aims to do both,” OGS Commissioner Destito said. “Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, Allstate, NY State of Health, and Taste NY, the Genesee Street Market will help the people who work, live, and visit downtown Utica to discover new high-quality, local products.”

With a growing list of vendors, visitors to the Genesee Street Market can expect to see artisanal breads, locally raised meats, local honey and honey products such as mead, and hand-crafted gifts for sale.

The market will also feature live music from noon to 1 p.m. on the last Friday of each month.

Performance Schedule

  • June 29: Piano favorites with Keith James
  • July 27: Bluegrass with Nick Piccininni
  • August 31: Jazz with Jerry Dee and the Dovetones
