NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Amanda Bronson, of Middletown, has a cup of coffee to thank for her Lottery luck. Bronson won the $3,000,000 jackpot on the $100 Million Payout scratch-off game.

“I needed a cup of coffee so I made a quick stop at the Shell station,” explained Bronson. “I’m not a frequent player, but I do like scratch-offs so I decided to buy a ticket. I just randomly chose the $100 Million Dollar ticket and happened to win the jackpot.”

Bronson purchased her $10 ticket at the Shell station on Main Street in New Paltz. She claimed her prize at the Lottery’s Fishkill Office on July 28.

Bright chose to receive her Lottery prize in 20 annual payments of $150,000 before required withholdings. Her annual net check will total $99,270.

“I was in complete shock,” explained the mother of one. “I don’t really have any immediate plans for the money yet, but it will help out with my daughter’s college education.”

Bronson is the 100th New Yorker to claim a million dollar prize this year.

The New York Lottery contributed $80,263,907 in Lottery Aid To Education to school districts in Orange County during fiscal year 2013-2014.
