New York State Department of Labor (DOL) functions, such as Unemployment Insurance benefits and workforce development programs including Career Centers, will not be impacted by a federal government shutdown. Federal funding for DOL programs was secured in November 2018, so the agency will continue to assist New Yorkers in obtaining the vital safety-net benefits that they depend on. “The shutdown won’t keep us from assisting the unemployed and connecting job seekers to jobs,” said Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon. “Our agency stands ready to assist New Yorkers in need. Reach out to us — we’re here to help.” |
