OGS TO AUCTION SURPLUS ITEMS AT FORMER STATE OFFICE BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN BUFFALO ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16

More than 300 Items to be Auctioned

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner Jeanette Moy today announced a public liquidation auction of surplus items from the former Senator Walter J. Mahoney State Office Building located at 65 Court Street in Buffalo will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16. The auction will take place in the Mahoney Building with on-site registration and inspection beginning at 8 a.m.

OGS sold the Mahoney Building at auction in October 2021, and now as the building is being prepared for transfer, OGS is liquidating more than 300 pieces of surplus furniture and equipment that have been divided among 130 auction lots and include:

  • Chairs
  • Desks
  • Tables
  • Glass-door cabinets
  • Filing cabinets
  • Bookcases
  • Modular office systems
  • Wood benches
  • Plumbing supplies
  • Tools
  • Garden tools
  • Copper fittings and wires

All bidders must register to participate in the auction. To avoid waiting on line during the on-site registration period, bidders can preregister online here.

Full payment will be due within 30 minutes of the auction’s completion by cash or credit card only.

Successful bidders will have until Thursday, March 31 to remove their purchases. Item removal can be scheduled to take place between 8 a.m. and 3:30, Monday through Friday up until the March 31 deadline.
