New York State kicks off its weeklong celebration of Earth Week on Monday, April 18, in Rochester with a significant funding announcement for 51 nonprofit land trusts across the State. The millions of dollars in funding supports projects that protect water quality and farmland, boost public access for outdoor recreation, and conserve open space. Who: DEC Regional Director Tim Walsh and representatives of the Land Trust Alliance, Genesee Land Trust, and other partners. When: Monday, April 18 at 1 p.m. Where: Maplewood Park, 250 Maplewood Ave., Rochester, NY. *To meet on the east side of the Maplewood Parking Lot, near the Entrance to the riverway trail. (opposite the Rose Garden). Photo opportunity: Following the announcement there will be a photo op, including an optional short walk to the Lower Falls. |
