Nearly 250,000 STAR Registration letters were mailed to Central Region property owners last week. Since that time, 60,000 homeowners have registered for the Basic STAR exemption – more than 1,000 at the State Fair alone. On Tuesday at the State Fair, New York State Commissioner of Taxation and Finance Thomas H. Mattox will register Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Markets Darrel J.
