Campground Accessibility Improvements Included in 10-year Plan

A Draft Unit Management Plan (UMP) for the Mongaup Pond Campground located in Livingston Manor, Sullivan County is now available for public review and comment, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today. The draft UMP will guide future management of the campground over the next 10 years and proposes improvements to enhance accessibility. Comments will be accepted through October 1, 2015.

Proposed improvements to the campground include a new pavilion with universal access, six accessible lean-tos with fireplaces and privy access, and a new accessible walkway. A new lakeside picnic area and one new parking lot are also proposed. Details on these projects and others can be found in the UMP.

The Draft Mongaup Pond Campground UMP is available on DEC's website at http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24484.html. Copies are also available in electronic format on compact disc and may be requested by calling (518) 457-2500.
