ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The New York Lottery will present a $5,000 prize check to officials and members of the Rochester City School District’s School of the Arts Concert Choir in recognition of the group’s second-place finish in the statewide New York Sings Facebook contest. The contest drew more than 240 entries from public schools statewide. The event will include a performance by the school’s renowned Concert Choir whose rendition of the 70’s hit song “Thank You For Being A Friend” made it a fan favorite in the New York Lottery’s social media contest. The promotional contest was designed to build awareness of the Lottery’s mission to raise revenue for public K – 12 education.
