Additional photo opportunity scheduled for Saturday

The New York Lottery has posted b-roll featuring some of the fun ways New York is expressing its anticipation of Saturday’s record-shattering $800 million Powerball jackpot. Outside of various Powerball retail locations and jackpot signs, a New York Lottery-branded band leader performs a continuous drum roll to announce Saturday night’s record drawing.  The Powerball “Big Red Ball” mascot also makes a guest appearance as customers stream in to purchase tickets.

In addition, the New York Lottery will host a photo opportunity Saturday, January 9 at one of its most popular Lottery retailers in NYC. The event will feature the drum roll character, Powerball mascot and multitudes of would-be multi-millionaires in line to try their luck. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Laxmi Corp at 879 8th Ave. and will continue through the close of sales at 10 p.m.
