Electricians Recruit Apprentices |

Niagara Falls, NY (May 26, 2020) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Niagara County Electricians Local Union #237 will conduct a recruitment from July 16, 2020 through July 15, 2021 for three Electrician (Housewire or Residential) apprentices and 15 Electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions - the Finger Lakes and Western regions of the state. Applications are available online at http://www.ibew237.com/application-process. Applications can be printed and mailed to JATC for Niagara County Electricians Local Union #237, PO Box 120, 8803 Niagara Falls Blvd, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Completed applications can also be placed in the secure drop box located outside of the back door of the Union Hall at this same address. Each applicant must also sign and send an affidavit (available online) along with the application. If applying to both Electrician (Housewire or Residential) and Electrician programs, an applicant must fill out two applications. Applicants who do not have access to a printer may call the Union office at (716) 297-3650 to request an application form by mail or to schedule a time to pick up an application form. Applicants must pay a $10.00 testing fee for in-house administration of an aptitude test. Applicants may request that this fee be waived. Fee waivers will be approved upon showing verifiable proof of financial need. All applications must be postmarked no later than July 15, 2021. The Committee requires that applicants:

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
