New York Lottery Treating Players to Halloween-Themed Multi-State Raffle

The more people play, the more millionaires there will be

SCHENECTADY, NY -- The New York Lottery is partnering with six other states of the Powerball and Mega Millions consortiums  to present a first-of-its-kind Halloween Million$ Raffle offering players a chance to win one of at least two $1,000,000 prizes in a drawing to be held on November 1. In addition to New York, other lotteries participating in the Halloween-themed raffle include Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio and Oklahoma.

“Ticket sales for the multi-state Halloween Million$ Raffle are off to a robust start, which is great news for players because for every 200,000 raffle tickets sold across all participating states, another $1,000,000 prize will be drawn on November 1. In other words, the more people who play, the more millionaires there will be,” said New York Lottery Acting Director Gardner Gurney. Each ticket for the Halloween Million$ Raffle costs $10.

Tickets for the Halloween Million$ Raffle went on sale September 29 in New York and will remain on sale through October 31 at midnight. The Raffle drawing will take place at Powerball headquarters in Iowa on November 1. Results of the drawing will be available at nylottery.ny.gov following the 1 p.m. drawing. The odds of winning the jackpot will depend on the total number of tickets sold across all participating states.

As a bonus for New York Lottery players, each Halloween Million$ Raffle ticket sold in New York will feature a unique nine-digit raffle number printed directly on the ticket. The last three digits of the raffle number will double as a bonus set of numbers for the following day’s midday Numbers drawing.   If those numbers match, the ticket holder will win $10; effectively putting him or her in the Halloween Million$ Raffle at no cost.

Additional details on the Halloween Million$ Raffle its bonus midday  drawing are available in the Halloween Million$ Raffle tab at nylottery.ny.gov.
