Fall Festival Season Almost Here … Three Weeks of Celebrating Autumn

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Fall festival season is upon us and Whiteface Lake Placid is celebrating with Oktoberfest on Oct. 1-2 followed by the Flaming Leaves Festival on Oct. 8-9, and Brewfest on Oct. 15. Whether at the ‘face, jumps or Olympic Center, we want to see you there so be sure to tag your festival photos with #WFLPFallFests. Favorite tagged photos will be selected and featured as our “Fall Festival Photo of the Day” on www.WhitefaceLakePlacid.com.

The festivities kick off with the 25th anniversary Oktoberfest presented by Spaten at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y. The two-day, Bavarian style celebration features adult Oktoberfest games, tall mugs of beer, delicious food, specialty vendors, rides and fun for the entire family. Saturday’s fireworks, at 7:30 p.m., are presented by KOA Campgrounds in Wilmington.

A limited number of $35, two-day tickets are on sale at http://www.whiteface.com/events/oktoberfest. These tickets, available to persons ages 21 and over, include a festival gondola ride to the summit of Little Whiteface Mountain, a one-liter logoed stein, compliments of Spaten, and a coupon for your first beer.

Single day festival and gondola tickets, for both Saturday and Sunday, are also available online for just $20. Admission to the festival, without the gondola, is $16 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for youth 12 and under.

The following Saturday and Sunday, ski jumping, Blues, brews and barbeques make for a spectacular fall weekend in Lake Placid. The nation’s top ski jumpers soar off the Olympic Jumping Complex’s 90-meter ski jump, competing in the 2017 U.S. Ski Jumping Championships and NYSEF K90 Ski Jump, while crowds below take in the Blues during the annual Flaming Leaves Festival.

The festival offers entertainment for all ages including lawns games, skilled craft vendors and a combined chairlift and elevator ride up the 120-meter ski jump.  At the top, experience magnificent views of peak Adirondack Fall foliage as surrounding hills and mountains are highlighted by brilliant reds, oranges and yellows.
