MTA, NYCDOT Advise Customers of Upcoming Signal Modernization and Track Replacement Work in Southern Brooklyn and Belt Parkway Closures |

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) today advised customers of upcoming signal modernization and track replacement work along the and lines starting Friday, Feb. 16. The joint work is part of the Authority’s Culver Line Signal Modernization project, which is fully replacing signals on the Culver Line from Church Av to West 8 St in Brooklyn to improve reliability and resilience, and also replacing tracks that have reached the end of their useful life to improve overall service for customers. To accommodate the signal modernization and track replacement work in Southern Brooklyn:
To minimize service changes and future outages in the area, NYC Transit crews will perform track renewal work, which will lead to improved reliability and better service along the line. To safely accommodate work, the MTA, in close coordination with NYCDOT, will implement alternate road closures for the weekend of Feb. 16 on the Belt Parkway. Detour routes will be provided. Motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternative routes across southern Brooklyn — or to use mass transit. Friday, Feb. 16: From 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.: Eastbound: Closed between (Exit 6) Cropsey Ave & (Exit 7) Ocean Pkwy. Westbound: Reduced to (1) Lane, between (Exit 7A) Shell Road & Exit (6N) Cropsey Ave. Saturday, Feb. 17: From 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.: Eastbound: Reduced to (1) Lane, between (Exit 7A) Shell Road & Exit (6N) Cropsey Ave. Westbound: Closed between (Exit 6) Cropsey Ave & (Exit 7) Ocean Pkwy. Sunday, Feb. 18, Monday Feb. 19 & Tuesday, Feb. 20: From 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Monday, and from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Tuesday: Eastbound: Reduced to (1) Lane, between (Exit 6) Cropsey Ave & (Exit 7) Ocean Pkwy.
