MTA Long Island Rail Road Is the Best Way for Fans to See Pros Play at ‘The Barclays’ PGA Tourney at Bethpage Black

Purchase Tickets at www.barclaysgolf.com by August 12 & Ride LIRR Free

MTA Long Island Rail Road is the best way to get to Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale to see the world’s greatest golfers compete in the The Barclays/PGA Golf Tournament, the annual event being held Tuesday, August 23 through Sunday, August 28 at the famed Bethpage Black golf course.

The LIRR is providing plenty of train service to Farmingdale Station where the PGA will be running free shuttle buses for the short trip to nearby Bethpage State Park and the Bethpage Black course. If you purchase a clubhouse ticket for the tournament by Friday, August 12, the PGA will give you a complimentary round-trip LIRR ticket good to and from any station at no additional cost. Place your order at www.barclaysgolf.com and a tournament ticket and LIRR ticket will be mailed directly to you.

No Parking at Bethpage State Park
Tournament officials are urging fans to use the Long Island Rail Road since there will no public parking at Bethpage State Park for the event. The closest off-site parking is at the Nassau Coliseum where buses will be provided for the trip to the golf course.

“Cleary, the LIRR is the best way to get to The Barclays venue quickly and conveniently and at our regular fares for travel to Farmingdale Station,” said LIRR President Patrick A. Nowakowski.

Nowakowski said the LIRR expects to carry about 35,000 spectators or 20% of the tournament gate to The Barclays, where the top 125 players on the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Points Race compete. The LIRR brochure, “Take the LIRR to The Barclays,” which follows this press release, provides a schedule of weekday and weekend trains to The Barclays, travel tips and other tournament information.
