ECAC Men’s Hockey Wraps Up regular Season this Weekend … St. Norbert Remains the #1 D3 Hockey Team

Lake Placid Gears Up to Host ECAC Men’s Hockey and NCAA D3 Championships

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Seventh ranked Yale (18-5-4, 13-4-3) extended its win streak to seven games to close within four points of top ranked Quinnipiac (23-2-7, 14-1-5) for the ECAC Hockey regular season title heading into the final week of the season. The Bulldogs, who have 29 points, skated to a 4-3 victory over 19th ranked and fourth seeded St. Lawrence (16-12-4, 10-7-3), Friday, and a 3-1 win over Clarkson (16-13-3, 8-9-3), the following night.

Yale, which already has a first round bye in the tournament, finishes up regular season play on the road at 12th seeded Princeton (5-20-2, 3-15-2), Friday, before squaring off against the Bobcats.

Just four points separate seeds three through five. Twelfth ranked Harvard (15-8-4, 11-5-4) holds down the third seed with 26 points, just three ahead of the Saints and four points in front of both 17th ranked RPI (16-12-6, 8-6-6) and Dartmouth (14-12-1, 11-9-0), who are tied for fifth place with 22 points apiece.

Cornell (13-8-6, 8-7-5), ranked 16th in this week’s USCHO.Com hockey poll, sits in seventh place with 21 points. The Big Red has struggled since January 15, posting a 2-6-4 mark.

Round one of the ECAC Hockey post season tournament, begins March 4. The fifth seeded team hosting the number 12 seed, while the 11th seed travels to the six seed. The conference’s seventh seed squad hosts the 10th seeded team, while number eight entertains number nine. The first round is a best two out of three format.

Norbert (21-2-2) remained atop this week’s USCHO.Com’s Division III hockey poll. Adrian (21-3-1) moved one place to second, trading spots with Plattsburgh State (19-3-3), who fell to third.

The 50 member voting panel of coaches, beat writers and professionals kept Wisconsin Stevens-Point (19-5-1) and Williams (18-4-1) at four and five in this week’s poll.  

Next month, Lake Placid, N.Y. plays host to both the ECAC Men’s Hockey Championship Tournament, March 18-19, and the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship, March 25-26, 2016. The two tournaments will be played in Lake Placid’s famed Herb Brooks Arena 1980 Rink.

Tickets for the ECAC Men’s Hockey Championship Tournament are on sale now.

Single day tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for junior and seniors. All Tournament tickets are also available, $55 for adults and $45 for juniors and seniors.
 

Single day and all event tickets are also available for the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship Tournament. Adult single day tickets are priced at $22, while the junior/senior and student ticket is being sold for $16.

The adult all tournament ticket is $35 and the junior/senior and student all tournament tickets can be purchased for $28.
