Electricians Recruit Apprentices |

Clay, NY (May 12, 2014) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Electricians Local Union #43 (Syracuse) will conduct a recruitment from June 11, 2014 through May 13, 2015 for 25 electrician apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for the Central, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, and Southern Tier Regions. This program’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Tompkins, and Wayne. Applications can be obtained at the John J. Barry Training Center, 4566 Waterhouse Road, Clay, NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
