Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road Make it Easy to Catch the Jets and Giants at MetLife StadiumOne Ticket Covers the Ride to the Meadowlands Sports Complex

Calling all football fans! The MTA wants to make it easy for you to get to New York Jets and New York Giants home games at MetLife Stadium all season long, and all other stadium events including college games. Whether you’re coming from Long Island, the Hudson Valley or Connecticut, take the train to the game to avoid traffic and parking hassles, and pay with just one ticket to make the trip.
Wherever you’re starting from, all rail travel to the Meadowlands Sports Complex is covered by just a single ticket that is accepted on either the Long Island Rail Road or Metro-North Railroad, as well as NJ TRANSIT for the New Jersey portion of the trip. Customers can purchase tickets to the Meadowlands Sports Complex through at any Metro-North or Long Island Rail Road ticket office, ticket machine. When buying your ticket at a machine, select “M” and then Meadowlands as your destination. Customers should hold on to these special joint tickets to use on NJ Transit for connecting service to and from the Meadowlands.

Below are service details for each area served by the MTA’s railroad network.
New Haven Line Direct Service for Sunday 1 p.m. Games
For games on Sunday at 1 p.m., Metro-North and NJ TRANSIT have teamed up to operate a special New Haven Line train departing from New Haven’s Union Station at 8:40 a.m., with additional stops at West Haven, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Westport, South Norwalk, Darien, Stamford, Greenwich, Rye and Larchmont. The train provides direct through-service (a one seat ride!) via Penn Station-NY to NJ TRANSIT’s Secaucus Junction. At Secaucus, customers can change trains for a ten minute shuttle train to the Meadowlands Sports Complex, where it arrives at 11:36 a.m.
After the game, customers can take the 5:10 p.m. departure from the Meadowlands Sports Complex to Secaucus Junction. At Secaucus Junction, customers can connect with the 5:38 p.m. train to Penn Station-NY for direct service back to those New Haven Line stations.

Non-Direct Harlem Line, Hudson Line & New Haven Line Service for All Games
Customers can ride any train to Grand Central Terminal then ride the subway, walk or catch a cab to Penn Station-NY. To take the subway, board the 42nd Street S Shuttle for a 90-second trip to Times Square, then transfer to the downtown 123 for a one-stop ride to 34th Street-Penn Station.
At Penn Station-NY customers can transfer to NJ Transit service to the Meadowlands Sports Complex. After the game, there are many NJ TRANSIT trains returning to Penn Station-NY.

Long Island Rail Road
Customers can board any regularly scheduled Long Island Rail Road train to Penn Station to connect with NJ TRANSIT service to the Meadowlands. Trains are not scheduled as direct connections, so customers are encouraged to plan accordingly. Those who are traveling to Penn Station using LIRR monthly or weekly ticket should purchase NJ TRANSIT tickets to the Meadowlands before boarding NJ TRANSIT trains (tip: use ticket machines in NJT waiting area).

Pascack Valley Line and Port Jervis Line Service
Rockland County and Orange County customers can take any Pascack Valley Line or Port Jervis Line train to Secaucus Junction for a connecting NJ TRANSIT train to the Meadowlands. Customers from east of the Hudson River can consider this option as well. Stations on the Pascack Valley Line and Port Jervis Line can be reached via Hudson River crossings such as the Tappan Zee Bridge, Bear Mountain Bridge and Newburgh Beacon Bridge, and parking at all New York State stations on these lines is free of charge on the weekend.
