Out with the Old… In with the New |

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- After displaying events, World Cups, concerts and other activities’ schedules for more than 30 years, Lake Placid’s Olympic Center marquee is being torn down to make way for a new state-of-the-art LED marquee. The new marquee is expected to be completed by this Friday, Nov. 21.
Attached to this release are photos of the current marquee being taken down and an artist rendition of what the new marquee may look like.

-- ORDA -- Established in 1982, the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) was created by the State of New York to manage the facilities used during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid. ORDA operates Whiteface, Belleayre and Gore Mountain ski areas; the Olympic Sports Complex at Mt. Van Hoevenberg; the Olympic speed skating oval, Olympic jumping complex and Olympic arena. As host to international and national championships, the Authority has brought millions of athletes, spectator and participants to the region, resulting in significant economic development. |
