Finishing Trades Recruit Apprentices |

Rochester, NY (March 8, 2016) - The Finishing Trades Institute of Western and Central New York (Rochester) will conduct a recruitment from April 6, 2016 through March 08, 2017 for five painter, decorator, and paperhanger apprentices; five drywall taper apprentices; and five glazier apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Applications can be obtained on the Finishing Trades’ website, www.dc4.org, and mailed to: FTI of W & CNY, 585 Aero Drive, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. Applicants who apply by mail will be contacted to schedule an interview. Applications can also be obtained in person from the location noted below. This location also holds open recruitment sessions, where applications can be obtained and submitted, as detailed below. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
