Elevator Constructors Recruit Apprentices |

Albany, NY (November 10, 2015) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local Union #35, will conduct a recruitment from December 11, 2015 through December 23, 2015 for one elevator-escalator constructor and modernizer apprentice, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for four recruitment regions - the Capital District, Central, Mohawk Valley, and North Country regions. Applications will only be accepted online, anytime during the recruitment period, at www.neiep.org/careers.aspx. Applicants must take and pass the Elevator Industry Aptitude Test. A testing fee of $25 must be paid at the time of testing. The payment must be in the form of a postal money order or bank certified check (no cash or personal checks will be accepted). Please note, applicants may request that the testing fee be waived. Fee waivers will be approved upon showing verifiable proof of financial need. The Committee requires that applicants:

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
